Location IQ Tanzania · Developer sandbox
Develop on your laptop before setting up a production server. Get administrative names, nearby landmarks, Geocoding and available population context with one bounded API call.
Checking your session…
Copy once. Rotating revokes your previous sandbox credential and keeps the same daily allowance.
Create a key and send a request to see real, bounded Tanzania location context here. Actual observations and estimates are labelled separately.
Set LOCATIONIQ_KEY in your server environment. The examples default to the sandbox and keep credentials out of URLs and browser code.

Create a scoped production key, submit the server’s fixed outbound public IP and wait for approval. Switch your example to LOCATIONIQ_ENV=production with that production key. Sandbox credentials cannot access production APIs; production credentials do not work in the sandbox.
Evaluation includes five nearest landmarks within 10 km and available location context. Bulk extraction, routing and catchment jobs require the production workflow. A shared 500-request daily network safety cap and 20-request/minute account limit also apply.
